Hi everyone.. Just thought I would drop you all a little blog post to let you know how things have been going since my release of “A Cello in the Street - Exclusive Single & Remixes” album last week.
I had some super big donators who bought my album and I want to thank you who did! The “pick-your-own-price” deal will be coming to an end come Monday. So if you haven't had a chance to pick up my album for a buck or more… You have until Monday 11/13/2023. Feel free to click here to buy it and help support my music!
However, if you happen to subscribe to Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music or any major music streamer. You can now listen to my latest album from there! You can click on my links page here, to get to my tracks through your favorite streamer or click the image below.
The more plays I get on those platforms, the more my music gets exposed to potential listeners (those pesky algorithms)! So throw my tunes up while you're driving, studying, knitting, you name it and that will be a great and easy way to show your support for my music!
Finally, let's say you really don't have any bucks to spend on frivolous purchases right now or don't subscribe to a streamer, but really want to check my album out. Well, then these links are for you…
Click on the icons below to listen to my album for FREE! on either YouTube or Soundcloud.
Clicking a like on each track would really be appreciated though. Hey! it's a free click! That puts my tunes up on the recommendation lists and makes my music “discoverable” to new fans. I'd like to again thank those of you who have gone out of your way to either buy my stuff or have taken time to listen to my music. Hoping you enjoy it! And I am always happy to read encouraging thoughts in the comments!
So it seems that this time around, I had a couple of more headaches with getting my tunes distributed through streaming and I had to make some last minute changes. I use CDBaby as a distributor and they are pretty good. I like them over other services, because you only have to make a one time payment and then your stuff stays up forever. Other services charge you an annual fee, and if you decide not to pay one year, all your stuff comes down.
The first fun was with the naming of the tracks. Apple didn't like the fact that I had the name “iPhone” in the name of Steve Nash's remixed track (click here to read more about Steve and the other artists involved with this project). So that caused a delay in my distro, as I had to replace the track name with “Mobile Phone” instead of iPhone… sheesh! I also made other minor changes to the naming for some of the tracks to avoid any “partner” issues ("partners" being the streamers). So if you happened to purchase a copy of my album before this blog post, you got “collector editions” with the older track naming…. Look out for the “iPhone Extend-O Mix” which is now “Mobile Phone Extend-O mix.” Lol!
The other headache I am dealing with is with Spotify. I listed the guest remixers as co-artists on the tracks that they remixed for me. Well, Spotify decided to call my album a compilation and list it under “various artists” instead of Masterjoda75. So if you go to my artist page on Spotify, you will notice that my “Cello in the Street - Single" is absent from my discography. Apparently, this tends to happen frequently, so I am working through my Distributor and Spotify to iron out that problem. For now, my links page is pointing straight to the Album so you Spotify subscribers don't need to go hunting all over for it. There's some YouTube messes as well, but I think I've talked about that in the past, so I won't bore you with those details.
Finally, after you've read all this, swing on over to my photos and videos page here on my website. I've got some new galleries featuring production photos from this last album, and some of the promo videos I've been posting throughout the week. The one below was generated through AI (at least the video background). The text, and graphic flickering overlay was added by me. I was a little meh about what the AI gave me. All it did was take my keywords that I fed into the website and spit out some stock footage found around the web. I wasn't impressed. In fact, I manually re-cut the video they gave me to make it come out the way I wanted. But it could be a potential tool to save me time in finding video for future promos. We shall see.
Well, that's what's been going on in the world of Masterjoda75 and if you made it here…. Thanks for reading!
