The robots are here! And they're about to take over… Your sound systems!
I can't believe I am about to put out my 3rd release and 2nd full length album, “Electric Kingdom.” It's going to be a MASSIVE release with 10 tracks of robot pumping, creepy ambient feeling music that will blow your minds!! Ha ha ha! OK, maybe not THAT good. But I am very proud of what I've been able to pull off, especially with my producer/sound engineer's Byron Kane's help. Today I marked PASS on the final track of the album and we are about to move into Mastering. Once that's set, I start making some distribution moves and we are ready to go! So keep your eyes peeled via email, YouTube and Social Media for when this release drops!!

Masterjoda75 a hit in India??!!
As an independent artist who handles his own promotion and no access to promotion connections, it can get a little depressing when those numbers come in. Especially listeners. I started leaning onto YouTube more, because I seem to be able to get more active engagement than anywhere else. Apple Music and Spotify will send me updates on “plays” on my tracks, and it's quite depressing. Because those number usually equal ZERO or maybe 15-20 listeners on a good day. A little embarrassing to share, but that's just how it goes when you're in the noise of thousands of other artists and the mighty top 40 artists. People just have other things to listen to. And I get it.
But then I got a little surprise at the beginning of the month. The most plays I'd ever received on apple music:
Over 200 plays! Woah, looked at the source and it was around India and Asia. Figured it must have been a fluke or something. But whatever… gave myself a little pat on the back, and hoped that of all of those 200+ plays, some were legit listeners. But then, I received my next week's play count and that blew my socks off!
What?? Almost 600 plays! And same general location! Maybe someone has me on auto-repeat? It seems to all stem around a few tracks, “A Cello In the Street - REMASTERED," “Jurassic Lo-Fi,” and “R3d.” Kind of cool. So who knows. I can only hope they are legit. Not for the money. Because Apple doesn't pay artists squat unless you start hitting the hundreds of thousands or millions! But if these are legit listeners, I can only hope many are actually enjoying my music. And that would TRULY make my day as an artist.
