I don't believe I have ever cranked out mixes with BK so fast for this album.. Electric Kingdom (the song), Assimilation, and Midnight Galaxy, knocked out of the park within the span of a month! Midnight Galaxy was a DAWless jam I did some time last year. It was released earlier this year, but was buried away in one of my blog posts. I've created a studio version for this album. So I thought it would be cool to re-promote and reshare the live version as a single. Check it out below…
This track was my first real use of my Modular system, which I tried to highlight in the video above. My Modular System has continued to grow since then. I liked this track so much, I just had to add it to Electric Kingdom.
The next crop of tracks will be a lot more complex. And I can't wait to get them mixed. But those are going to take time, lots of tracks and I am probably going to get picky with how I want it mixed. Here's a quick preview of Syrax Rising (I may need to change the name for copyright reasons). It is a re-tooling of my Game Of Thrones Remix. I loved that remix. So I threw out all the Warner Bros. copyrighted material and put a brand new track together.
This will probably be the most complex track on the album. I just kept adding stuff and adding stuff as long as it worked. It ended up having live Dragons! You'll have to hear it when the album comes out!
And now for some news. I didn't win the Madonna Ray of Light Remix Challenge. Which is fine. I just wanted to do it and wasn't expecting to win. If you didn't get a chance to listen, it is still up here on my website. You should be able to see it on the bottom of this screen. Just hit PLAY!
One thing I noticed with these comps, like the House of the Dragon Remix Comp I did earlier, they're kind of looking for remixes that are more modern sounding. And that means they're looking at dub step style, heavy on the samples material. Which is fine. But as a musician, heavily relying on Samples can get a little boring, as the Samples can do all the work for you, as it's a pre-recorded loop with stuff that is already played out for you. I prefer to play out my parts and create my own drums. I do loops from time to time, but don't rely on them. As a result, my Electronic Music can kind of get stuck in the ‘90s I suppose. But I do this for fun and enjoyment, not to try and “make it” or lock into a specific style. That’s just my take. So I'm most pleased that my stuff sounds like my 90's Electronic heroes like Moby, The Prodigy, Sunscreem, Orbital and 808 State. With a dash of New Order, The Pet Shop Boys, and Electronic.
Recently one of my tracks was played on a YouTube Live video. This YouTuber (gigi.wav_) was previewing and critiquing a bunch of underground Electronic Muisc tracks. Check out what he said about my track, “Test The CZ”…
Kind of cool he equated my track with the latest 2025 release of TRON that has NIN all over it. I'll be honest, every time someone gets to check out my tracks, the experience is usually very positive. I'm just terrible at promoting myself. I know I have an audience out there somewhere beyond family and friends. Just need to find them.
